It‘s a semisweet sparkling wine made from 100% Verdejo grape.
La Seca (Valladolid), May 30, 2011. - Cuatro Rayas Winery from the Rueda denomination launches a new concept in Verdejo, DOLCE BIANCO, a wine slotted as the Spanish alternative to Italian frizzante and spumante wines. This wine bears the highest quality of the Verdejo varietal at absolutely competitive pricing.
This 100% Verdejo semisweet bubbly wine is naturally produced from select grapes of the Verdejo varietal by stopping fermentation by chilling the wine. This process allows the wine to maintain the sweetness and form the streaming bubbly texture that caresses the palate. Its low alcohol content, at only 9%, freshness, and fruity character are the traits that Angel Calleja, Winemaker at Cuatro Rayas, has sought to explore in this new wine.
The Winery has very generous expectations for DOLCE BIANCO: "we intend to position ourselves gradually in the national and international markets to reach three million bottles by 2014," said Guillermo Perez, Sales Director at Cuatro Rayas. DOLCE BIANCO will be available for sale at authorized retailers at a suggested price of 3 euros.
