The Winery from the Rueda appellation has conducted a study, conforming to the PAS2050:2008 standard, of the environmental impact of its Cuatro Rayas Verdejo wine.
La Seca (Valladolid), October 26, 2011. - The Cuatro Rayas Winery, in collaboration with the Arce Group, has conducted a study regarding the carbon footprint of its best-selling wine, Cuatro Rayas Verdejo, in an attempt to discover the real impact of one bottle of wine on the environment.
Accordingly, a precise analysis was made of the emission of greenhouse gases produced by a bottle of wine during its lifespan - from its raw materials to its processing, distribution, consumption, and disposal or recycling. With this carbon footprint calculation, the Winery seeks to analyze the real impact that a bottle of wine has on the environment, and therefore on climate change.
This study was undertaken as part of the Winery‘s policy on social responsibility. It will allow the Winery to identify steps leading to the short-term reduction of the emissions created by its wine production. This measure extends Cuatro Rayas Winery‘s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
