Cuatro Rayas Verdejo, Barrel Fermented, Viñedos Centenarios, and Visigodo are the Winery‘s best-rated wines by the prestigious Peñin Guide to Spanish Wines.
La Seca (Valladolid), November 9, 2011. - The Peñin Guide, the preeminent publication in the Spanish wine industry edited by the critic Jose Peñin, has awarded 90+ points to four wines from the Cuatro Rayas Winery of the Rueda appellation, making it the best-rated winery in the zone.
The highest rating was given to Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios with 92 points. This wine is elaborated with old vine grapes using traditional winemaking techniques, and is known affectionately as winemaker‘s Angel Calleja‘s whimsy. In addition, Cuatro Rayas, Visigodo Verdejo garnered 91 points and Cuatro Rayas Barrel Fermented received 90 points.
The Peñin Guide to Spanish Wines is one of the leading authorities in Spain on the quality of wine. Its author, Jose Peñin, is a journalist and author of 17 books on wine, and is considered one of the top wine experts in our country.
