The Sauvignon Blanc wines Visigodo and Cuatro Rayas earned Gold and Silver Medals. The Cuatro Rayas Vinedos Centenarios Verdejo was awarded a Silver Bacchus.
The 2014 Bacchus International Wine Competition has established itself as one of the most prestigious on the international scene. This edition rated a total of 1,593 wines from 20 countries.
La Seca (Valladolid), March 20, 2014.- The Sauvignon Blanc varietal was the big winner of this edition of the Bacchus Awards, with Visigodo and Cuatro Rayas Sauvignon, two of the La Seca cooperative Winery‘s most distinguished benchmarks, receiving a Gold and Silver Medal, respectively. For its part, the Cuatro Rayas Vinedos Centenarios Verdejo, one of the Winery‘s most emblematic brands, earned a Silver Medal.
These three wines from the Rueda Appellation were selected among over 1,500 participating wines by more than 100 expert tasters who served as jurors for the Bacchus Awards, which is one of the most prestigious competitions in the international wine trade and the only one backed by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).
Visigodo 100% Sauvignon Blanc with personality and it’s one of the best market value, offers an
incredible price-quality ratio. Made with 100% Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, the wine shows
intense clear aromas of tropical fruit.
Cuatro Rayas Sauvignon: Made from 100% sauvignon blanc grown on 20 year old vines. Situated at about 700 meters altitude in areas of sandy soil with boulder outcroppings. Straw yellow color with a steely rim. Spacious and inviting on the nose with a citrusy background. Smooth and balanced palate with notes of passion fruit and pineapple.
Finally, Cuatro Rayas Viñedos Centenarios is a premium white wine vinified entirely from verdejo grape variety, selected from our own vineyards with more than a century old. Fruity and herbal with a hint of fennel coming through. Full flavoured, powerful but well balanced with a silky texture, hints of white fruit and herbs.
