Cuatro Rayas Ribera del Duero harvests its first medal at Mundus Vini

The Cuatro Rayas Ribera de Duero project submitted last September wins a silver at Mundus Vini

La Seca, Valladolid, March 1, 2017.- The Ribera del Duero wine from Bodega Cuatro Rayas has been awarded a silver medal in the prestigious international competition at Mundus Vini. This fact highlights the quality of the wines marketed by the winery.

The project Cuatro Rayas Ribera del Duero is led by the Cuatro Rayas oenologists and was presented last September. The 2015 vintage, which was used for the product, is an exclusive selected lot of 25,000 bottles of red wine made with tempranillo grapes from vineyards located near the Burgos village of Fuentecén, an enclave in the heart of Ribera del Duero between Aranda and Peñafiel.  After 5 months of aging in French oak and American oak barrels and an equal amount of time resting in the bottle in the winery, Cuatro Rayas Ribera del Duero successfully expresses the essence of this land which is clearly defined by its terroir. The result is an oak tempranillo that is dark cherry-red in color, of medium depth, with garnet rims. The nose is powerful and balanced, with aromas of ripe fruit, torrefacto, vanilla and spices. It has a velvety mid-palate, smooth and persistent, bringing out the elegance that is characteristic of the best red wines of Ribera del Duero.

About Mundus Vini
The first competition was held in 2001 in Germany and its objective is to encourage quality and promote the marketing of the wines entered in the contest. It is also intended to provide a forum for producers, winegrowers, importers and consumers that, on the one hand, makes it possible to compare the different wines in order to facilitate guidance and the purchase decision and, on the other hand, reach a wide audience. What represents valuable guidance for the wine consumers also constitutes recognition of the work and efforts expended by the producers.
