La Seca (Valladolid), 13 March 2019
The wines of Cuatro Rayas Winery have been awarded again in the International Competition Berliner Wine Trophy. For this edition, the competition has received a total of 7,000 submissions of wine samples coming from 41 different countries reaching 1,426 participants.
Once again, Cuatro Rayas reaffirms the quality of its wines produced with the indigenous variety Verdejo, receiving 4 Gold medals for Cuatro Rayas ‘Vendimia Nocturna’
made with Verdejo grapes from selected states. Night mechanical harvest. Powerful on the nose with hints of white and citric fruit; refreshing and balanced on the palate, with character and delicate fennel finish. Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias
, made with grapes coming from 40-year-old goblet-trained vines, in gravelly soil. On the nose shows white fruit and stone fruit aromas, over a background of undergrowth and balsamic undertones and hints of fennel. On the palate shows a perfect balance with well-integrated acidity. Azumbre
, produced with a selection of Verdejo variety grapes from old vineyards. Bright lemon-yellow colour with greenish highlights. Clean, powerful and fresh on the nose, sweet stone fruit aromas –apricot– over a background of fennel. Full flavoured and unctuous, with hints of fresh fruit, well-balanced and long finish. Visigodo Viñas Viejas
, pale yellow-lemon colour with greenish highlights. Intense and clean on the nose, with a strong aroma of the traditional Verdejo wines, fennel and white fruit. Very harmonious and balanced. Fat and long on the palate with structure and a great long finish. It feels very mellow on the attack. ProWein 2019
