From 31st July to 3rd August, it was held in Bogota the 14th edition of the first consumer-oriented international wine fair created by Mario Puchulu Giaca
. This fair aims to be a space for the promotion of the knowledge of wine.
During this last edition, the international wine competition took place, consisting of 12 blind tasting rounds for three days, with an international jury of experts from more than 15 countries. In this event, they ratified the quality of Verdejo wines from Bodega Cuatro Rayas awarding Caballito de Mar 2018
a Silver Medal, in the everyday Young White Wines category
, where it competed against wines from Argentina, Chile, Spain, France, USA, and Italy.
This award is certainly a big step for the consolidation of Bodega Cuatro Rayas wines in the Colombian market. Caballito de Mar is a Verdejo varietal white wine coming from vineyards harvested at night. It has a green-tinged yellow colour with steely highlights; aromatic, fruity and soft on the nose. On the palate, it is fruity and complex with a great structure. Technology and Quality
Located in the heart of Rueda, it accounts for about 18% of the production in the Designation of Origin. The members own more than 2,500 hectares of vineyard. Since the foundation in 1935, it has been a pioneer adapting the new trends in viticulture and winemaking.
