Cuatro Rayas presents “Green and Social” Verdejo, its principal investment in a sustainable economy and conscious consumption

The Rueda winery drives the green economy and extends its portfolio of wines to reach the growing concerns of consumers over the environment and a sustainable economy.

La Seca, June 10, 2020.- Wine cooperative Cuatro Rayas presents “Green and Social Verdejo”, it’s latest offering from the leading grape of the Rueda Appellation, a wine rooted in sustainable and socially-conscious winemaking launched to serve demanding consumers.  Green and Social stands out by prioritizing environmental and human concerns in its fields, in its production, in its packaging, and in its distribution.

      This Verdejo is a true reflection of a winery that supports 383 rural families, mostly residents of 30 villages in the provinces of Valladolid and Segovia, that strives to have equal opportunity for men and women in rural settings.  This white wine is elaborated organically and made under a vegan-certified process.  Its packaging is made with recycled paper and its labels contain FSC-certified paper.  A lighter recycled glass is used in bottling to reduce emissions in transport.  Its capsure is aluminum - 100% recyclable and free of traditional plastics.  The cork is made of sugar cane with a reduced carbon footprint.

      Cuatro Rayas Winery also adheres to Spain’s Code of Best Commercial Practices in Food Service, which promotes improved operations in the food distribution chain with a goal to obtain greater balance and transparency in commercial transactions, expand access to data and tracking along the chain, and conform commercial practices.

The most successful white wine varietal among Spanish consumers
Green and Social Verdejo ferments in stainless steel tanks and steeps in its own fine lees for at least 3 months for a full body.   With a straw yellow color and brilliant greenish glimmers, it is a prime expression of the top selling white varietal in Spain.  Fresh citrus and balsamic aromas characteristic of this varietal.  Flavorful and long mouthfeel.
